Trinity Fight Flight Freeze

Trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze

Normally there is this talk of "Fight or Flight" reaction. I have come to the notion that instead of a bi-polar reaction, we get to "choose" from the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze. Ofcoarse these are no options, but escape routes we have, to overcome any given stressrelated situation. In overload we do what we can by intuition, learned behavior, narrowed possibility for accessing resourceful options.

This third mentioned option (Freeze) in the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze is a result of total shutdown of conscious choosing. This results in a total blackout, or inability to move. I am sure you can imagine what it is like to feel like everything is frozen from fear. Freeze is not a state anywhere between Fight and Flight. Freeze has its own attributes, totally unrelated to Fight and Flight.

I therefore see the three as the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze and will - in my testing - be further stated as a trinity. I hope to give you feedback as time goes by and stressrelated issues will be seen in this light.

Until then, Huib Salomons. Practitioner Specialized Kinesiology.

muscle monitoring ideomotor working on nervous system

Posted On 26-07-2009 , 03:22

I found this fascinating quote today:

"Be as scientific as you want. Step over your own point of FEAR, to only realize using an ideomotor mechanism can help you pinpoint, overcome your problems and go on with living. Live is too short!"quinten.wordpress.com, Quint(ess)en(ce), Jul 2009

You should read the whole article.

Muscle testing and weakness caused by improper posture

Muscle testing and weakness caused by improper posture

"Both types of Kinesiology use muscle testing to improve movement. All muscles have corresponding muscles in the body, when one is weak it is either due to injury (acute or chronic) or weaknesses that can be caused by improper posture, bad habits, trauma or lifestyle." [1]
Yes, I googled again and what I found put me back 20 years. In my Touch for Health class there was this teaching about posture and correcting muscles. I never could place this lecture. But when I Google I think I now can understand why.

Touch for Health is said to be a offspring of Applied Kinesiology (AK). And AK holds on to the research of Kendall and Kendall [2]. They do test muscle functions and that is their jobdescription. In fact we learn Muscle test positions like a real AK practitioner.

Somewhere along the road "heavy" muscle testing [AK] became "light"muscle testing. This is the trademark of Specialized Kinesiology (SK). We test differently, we measure differently. Returning back to the introduction lessons of  TfH and imposing this lecture on what I now know from Manual Muscle Testing (SK MMT), I can see there was - in a way - a comparing Apples with Oranges.

Yes ... manual muscle testing we get information. This information of "Weak", "Strong", "Blocked" is only sometimes an indication for bad functioning muscles and most of the time a change in signals through the nervous system [in my experience]. You see the phrase "weaknesses that can be caused by improper posture" is not something we measure when using Specialized Kinesiology Manual Muscle Testing [short: SK MMT]. You can do this if you do functional muscle testing as is proposed with AK MMT or other physical test methods.

I have my doubts whether those who do AK MMT will not ever enter the world of SK MMT, where this superlight testing is preferred.

And when you ask me "what then do you 'measure' with SK MMT?". In the simplest way, I can answer you "the way the Body Mind Spirit Connection wants to communicate". As you can surely imagine this blog is too small for this to convey. I suggest you browse a little bit more on this website: hsalomons.com

P.S. You might also want to read this excellent >> EXPLANATION OF MANUAL MUSCLE TESTING . It words in a way what I advocate, but it is written by an AK-practitioner - of whom I think - dwells towards the SK MMT technique. Nothing wrong about that, but to all "let us not want  to be more Catholic than the Pope". Do the job and have success with and for your clients. That is what you are getting paid for, that is if you are having clients to take care of!

Total Weakness is possible

"Total Weakness" in muscle testing

"Have you noticed that once you allow things to happen they will happen?" Well, I acknowledged the fact that "Total Weakness" is the Other-then-Conscious wanting to make its contribution in the muscle test session. And now ... now the Body Mind Spirit Connection opens itself up to tell the story IT wants to tell.

Ofcourse there is a little bit of work to do before the Other-then-Conscious can express itself, because this door opens - in my muscle testing - when the Conscious in the Body Mind Spirit Connection has been satisfied.

"When do you know the issue of the Other-then-Conscious has been resolved?" I know this when "Total Weakness" has resolved itself into normal muscle testing and the problem is understood.

Do you have the nerves?

Posted On 14-06-2009 , 12:28

I am a great fan from Jean-Pierre Barral. I have several books from him. "Manual Therapy for the Peripheral Nerves " being my latest.

Reading your mind: "Who is he?" – I can tell you he is a world-renowned French Osteopath and Physical Therapist.
And what is so special about him? Well nothing. He represents to me the field of Osteopathy.

Like a Kinesiology practitioners (as decendents of the Chiropractitioners), the Osteopathy practitioners have the ability to LISTEN to the body in their own way. Through this way of thinking and surfing I stumbled upon the significance of the role nerves play in the body.

And to answer the question  "Do you have the nerves?" – When you get fascinated in this subject as I am, I am sure you feel like exploring it just as I do. Because with this book as a real starterkit, you will find ways to working with it!
