Normally there is this talk of "Fight or Flight" reaction. I have come to the notion that instead of a bi-polar reaction, we get to "choose" from the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze. Ofcoarse these are no options, but escape routes we have, to overcome any given stressrelated situation. In overload we do what we can by intuition, learned behavior, narrowed possibility for accessing resourceful options.
This third mentioned option (Freeze) in the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze is a result of total shutdown of conscious choosing. This results in a total blackout, or inability to move. I am sure you can imagine what it is like to feel like everything is frozen from fear. Freeze is not a state anywhere between Fight and Flight. Freeze has its own attributes, totally unrelated to Fight and Flight.
I therefore see the three as the trinity Fight - Flight - Freeze and will - in my testing - be further stated as a trinity. I hope to give you feedback as time goes by and stressrelated issues will be seen in this light.

Every day we are confronted with our body. When you don't function well and your health is far from "feeling good", you know it immediately. Because you cannot you do those things you normally do easily and without being mindful. Everyone has had that experience, some have it everyday and some have it now and then.
When pain is taking over
It is in these moments you are thown back into your body and feel limited in you experiences with it. I know from my own experience how easy you forget those painful annoying moments, when you feel good and the sun is shining and everyone is happy.
In pain we desparately look for the experience of feeling food in our body. Health then becomes all important. How do you cope with that in the most effective way? Many go for help to our urban shaman (the doctor), others take the time and wait and hope the body will recover from itself, others take actions in own hand and become mindful.
Start become your own healer (shaman)
To become mindful you have to be willing to observe, listen. Be objective to what you see, feel, hear. Just like a real researcher. And as researcher you decide the scope, the boundaries and the context. So you can relate the things that happen and make it plausible and manageable
And when you practize being mindful, I want to suggest to incorporate in your scope the presence of bodies. Whether they excist or not, is not an issue. But this can certainly make your observations more more fun. Because when you can not find any disturbance in one body, you may find it in any of the other bodies.
Being your own shaman, yogi, mindful person, you may find there are the physical body, the thinking-feeling body, emotional body, and the spiritual body. As a researcher you may picture this as going from substantial to more energetic. Where thought is considered matter, yet you can not touch it. So you search for these abberations that make your life hell at this moment and as mindfulness dictates you only observe. Because looking at what is happening you act, you put energy in the healing process for the better.
Being mindful you will find doors opening. Doors that in normal time would stay closed, because your mind (thinking-feeling body) was busy acting as a chicken running around without a head.
Every day we are confronted with our body. There is a distinct line between feeling well and feeling bad. You know it through your body.
Being mindful you may discover the problems you feel in your body may not be physical at all, but more in the realm of the thinking-feeling body, the mind body or the spiritual body. And you only get to observe that when you start become mindful. And as a bonus you may find that you have healed yourself.
